This post is long past due. Dan joined the Board back in late May or early June officially as a member of the Board of Directors and has been a major blessing to the ministry and its vision of transforming the formerly incarcerated to the point of no return. He is currently working on putting the finishing touches to our newsletter (if anyone would like to recieve a copy of it to find out what God is doing in our ministry, please let me know) and is heading up our 1st official fundraiser (more info to come on that).
Here is Dans bio: Dan Walmer has been in urban youth ministry here in Houston the last 15 years with positions at Star of Hope, City of Refuge Church, and Hope for Youth Inc. He is a graduate of Wheaton College (IL), the Rice Leadership Institute for Non-Profit Executives (LINE) and the Devos Urban Leadership Initiative. He lives in the Third Ward with his wife Rachel and two children Benjamin (7) and Abigail (4). His passion for ministering to young people is matched only by his love of distance running!
Thank you Dan for allowing God to use you on our team!

The Women of Gadara Ministries. From left, Tonya Lenoir, LaKeishia Thornton, and Sherry Groce. These women have stepped up to the challenge and faithfully serve Christ, by serving His body. They have been the "behind the scenes" support for the ministry, always willing to sacrifice and do whatever is necessary to help continue the mission of Gadara, to transform the formerly incarcerated to the point of no return, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

WorkFaith Connection
Sandy Schultz and Patricia Taul from WorkFaith Connection http://www.workfaithconnection.org/ attended the first graduation ceremony for Gadara Ministries. If you are not familiar with WorkFaith Connection it is a Christ centered job readiness program designed to help people fulfill their God given role of work. They have an 8 day job readiness program that is intense and personal. I attended one of their graduation classes and absolutely marveled at the transformation process they acheive in the lives of those who come through the program.
WorkFaith Connection is a partner ministry of Gadara Ministries and we would like to thank these ladies personally as well as the staff and those who are a part of their vital ministry for their work in making a difference. To God be the glory!
